- My career path with Agua Caliente I started entry level with our players rewards club ACE Club, as a Club Representative, then I decided to take the next step to dual rate supervisor and now shift manager. I think the ACE Club is a great starting point. Here you work with all departments and are guest facing. You can learn many skills that will help you grow in the department or another in the company.
- Each step of the way my supervisors and managers have supported me. While I was a supervisor, my former manager was a great mentor to me. With their guidance, I worked on the skills necessary to perform at manager level. It made me confident to become a manager. Another contribution to my development is my department leadership team, who are supportive and can be a go-to soundboard when needed. I appreciate their support and feedback.
- If you’re looking to grow in a company, it helps to be observant. I watched my supervisors and asked to run new tasks and with that I learned new skills.
- The most important lesson I have learned about leadership is to listen to your team, provide guidance and feedback, and share appreciation often.
- My favorite part about working with Agua Caliente is the fact that I am part of a community where Team Members from various departments and roles have genuine interest to know who you are and even offer help. - My career path with Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians (ACBCI) started when I was hired as a Change Attendant. The casino was very small and located in the former Ballroom at the Spa Hotel (this was before ‘the tent’). I joined the Cash Cage as a supervisor and remained there until 1999. I knew very little about the cage, but with the help of everyone from the Director of Cash Ops to the Main Bankers, I was able to learn the Cash Operations Supervisor role (it took a village). I was having a hard time balancing my schedule with work and my daughter’s school so I transferred to Slots as a Slot Attendant. I did that for about a year and then a very interesting job proposition appeared on the job postings. It was for Engineering Admin Asst and HR Admin Asst. This position was half day working in Engineering and half day working in HR. I applied and was offered the job(s). Shortly after, the Rancho Mirage property was being built and I participated in job fairs and staffing that property. I was afforded an opportunity to work at Rancho Mirage and move up within HR. I worked my way up to Team Member Relations Manager. In 2004, I moved back to Palm Springs and took an opportunity to join Table Games as a Pit Clerk. I attended dealing School and became a dealer within a year and a half. Five years later, I promoted to Dual-Rate and am now a Table Games Relief Shift Manager. I had found my home in Table Games.
- The advice I would give to any Team Members looking to grown in our company is to check in and give it your all. Move around with the transfer process and find your “home”, as I have, within the company. If you have the drive and determination, Agua Caliente can help you reach your goals. There are great opportunities to join ACBCI through the casino properties, the canyons, golf resort, gaming commission and Tribal Administration. To those looking for a career: There are people here who will recognize and appreciate your hard work and dedication and will help you achieve your goals.

HOUSEKEEPER

The Housekeeper is responsible for preparing guest rooms for occupancy and providing excellent guest service. You will get to learn how we team up and apply specific practices as a verified-luxury resort.

CULINARY

Culinary Cook I is responsible for the preparation of food for outlets as needed. Such prep may include cold salads, meat trays, desserts, fruit and cheese trays, garnishes, and hot items when necessary, per outlet requirements.
Culinary Cook II is responsible for the cooking, production of entrée, vegetable, and specialty station foods. May also cook roasted items to be used in other food outlets.
Culinary Cook III is responsible for the cooking, production of vegetables, and specialty station foods. May also cook roasted items to be used in other food outlets. Assure preparation and Guest Service is of the highest possible quality in a timely manner.

ENGINEER
Ensure that the casino facilities are always in top conditionAs an Engineer, you will be part of a team that ensures the casino facilities are always in top condition. You will work with all departments on an as needed basis, performing tasks such as repairing, painting, cleaning, and landscaping. You will also have the chance to work along with all Engineering personnel, learning from their expertise and skills. This is a role that requires dedication, flexibility, and creativity.
